OACP testing refers to the comprehensive assessment process administered through the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Constable Selection System. This testing program evaluates candidates on multiple dimensions to ensure police services receive qualified applicants who possess the skills necessary for effective law enforcement.

Evolution of the Testing System

The testing process underwent significant changes in January 2020 when the OACP launched its new online system, and again in January 2025 when proctoring transitioned to eProctor Canada. The current system requires candidates to create an account, complete testing in a live-online session with an invigilator, and submit all necessary forms prior to scheduling their exam.

OACP testing is conducted entirely online with webcam proctoring to maintain examination integrity. Candidates are recorded during both Part B (cognitive assessment) and Part C (personality assessment), with footage reviewed during certificate processing. Testing must occur on a compatible computer system; some candidates using Apple Mac computers may experience compatibility issues due to Apple's security system.

Testing Environment and Integrity Requirements

The testing environment requires a quiet location, reliable internet connection, functional webcam and microphone, and a government-issued photo ID for identity verification. Cheating is treated extremely seriously: candidates caught cheating are permanently disqualified from the OACP Certificate process, effectively ending their prospects for police employment in Ontario.
