SSPO practice tests are preparation materials designed to help candidates prepare for the Sigma Survey for Police Officers, the cognitive assessment component of the OACP Certificate examination. These practice tests simulate the format, content, and timing of the actual SSPO.

Test Structure and Language Skills Content

The SSPO consists of 74 questions completed in 35 minutes. Practice tests should mirror this structure, including Section A with 44 questions on spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation, and Section B with 30 police problem-solving questions.

Effective SSPO practice tests include spelling questions presenting words police officers commonly use in incident reports, requiring identification of correct or incorrect spellings. Vocabulary questions test understanding of words in context. Grammar and punctuation questions assess knowledge of language conventions including subject-verb agreement, comma usage, and sentence structure.

Problem-Solving Scenarios and Time Management

Police problem-solving practice questions present scenarios relevant to law enforcement work. These may describe patrol situations, interactions with citizens, witness interviews, suspect descriptions, map-based navigation, and ethical dilemmas. Each scenario includes multiple-choice options where candidates identify the best response.

Timing during practice is crucial. With less than 30 seconds average per question, candidates must develop quick reading comprehension and decision-making skills. Practice under timed conditions builds the stamina and pacing needed for exam day performance.
